Patch v1.1.2 - Casting Shadows
Patch v1.1.2 – “Casting Shadows”
Date: June 1, 2025 Infinity Instance: Season 2 Begins
This patch introduces important updates to class roles, item balance, and crafting systems—particularly aimed at promoting more PvE diversity and addressing longstanding mechanical gaps.
🎯 Cast Time Reduction Cap (Pre-Renewal Server)
As Renewal gear became more accessible in our Pre-Renewal environment, we saw a growing imbalance in how cast time was being reduced.
In Renewal: Items are designed with an 80% cast time reduction cap in mind—20% of cast time is always fixed. This prevents "no-cast" builds from becoming too common.
In Pre-Renewal: That limitation doesn't exist. So when Renewal gear (with high cast-reduction values) is used in Pre-Renewal, it enables builds to fully erase cast time far too easily, bypassing intended balance.
🔧 What’s Changing
A new 90% cap has been applied to cast time reduction effects from gear, cards, and buffs
Traditional Dex-based no-cast (150 Dex) remains untouched and continues to function as originally intended
🎯 Why 90%?
We wanted to preserve build variety and not punish players for using Renewal gear, but also rein in edge cases that could trivialize casting mechanics completely.
⚠️ Important: No current builds have reached this 90% limit yet. This is a preventative change, added now to future-proof the system as more powerful items become available.
This lets gear-based and Dex-based builds coexist — but in different ways:
Cast time reduction is easier to stack, but now capped at 90%
DEX-based no-cast remains untouched, as it's a core mechanic in Pre-Renewal and requires specific stat investment
This change helps future-proof the system as stronger items become available, while preserving the identity of Pre-Renewal gameplay. We'll continue monitoring the impact and adjust if needed.
🛡️ Swordsman Class Buffs – PvE Role Expansion
We’re starting Infinity Instance Season 2 with a core goal in mind: increase viable tank options.
Monks with Steel Body have long been the default pick for group content due to their extreme damage mitigation. But we want to open the door for Crusaders, Knights, and other frontline builds to be picked and valued in PvE too.
🛡️ Goals of These Buffs
• Promote tank builds that offer party-wide utility, damage mitigation, and reactive defense — not just raw invincibility • Encourage players to explore other viable tanking classes beyond the current reliance on Steel Body Monks • Open up more flexibility and creativity in party comps for Infinity Instance and future high-end content
Buff Summary:
Swordsman (All): • Endure mob damage reduction: 20% → 40%, duration: 2s → 5s
Knight: • Counter Stack duration increased: 3s → 5s • 2H Weapon damage reduction improved: • Lv 1–2: 2% → 3% • Lv 3–4: 5% → 6% • Each Counter Stack now grants more bulk: • DEF/MDEF per stack: 4 → 5
Crusader: • Shield Charge/Boomerang Holy Bulwark buff: Damage Reduction: 15% / 30% Duration: 5s / 10s
We’re watching group setups closely this season. Expect more changes to improve class diversity for tanking, DPS, and support roles in the near future.
